About Me
My name is Olivia Eastman and I am from the city of Newton, Massachusetts. I am a senior this year at Newton North High School and I am participating in the CAPS internship program. I have always loved working with children, and I truly believe kids are some of the most interesting people. I have been working at a daycare center for two years, and have fallen in love with the work. I focus in a toddler classroom, with kids ranging from one to two years old. Getting to know all the different personalities has been amazing and has expanded my skill set in working with children. I am taking psychology this year in school, and I am fascinated by the subject. My other interests include painting, visiting museums, and traveling. I would like to go to college to explore these passions, ideally to become a child psychologist with a focus on art.

About CAPS
CAPS is a unique opportunity offered by Newton North that allows seniors to pursue a project of their choice. This could either be a research project or an internship. Second semester, students drop most classes to dive into their passion exploring the research aspect as well as independently gaining experience with their personal topic. At the end of the semester, all students deliver a 'Ted Talk' type of presentation to share with others about all that they have learned. It is a pass fail program that requires immense self directivity and dedication.
